Gilbert Water Tower & Splash Pad

Chris and Jana Tingom

The Gilbert Water Tower has a really nice splash pad directly below the water tower! It’s a nice and small splash pad with plenty of concrete benches. The splash pad is inside a large circle and has jets of water that shoot upwards at varying intervals and heights.

The splash pad is similar to the one at Kierland Commons, and is the sort that drains right away (no pools or large puddles).

This makes it extremely suitable for younger kids. Toddlers can have a lot of fun here, and not get too wet.

For the older kids, and the young, there’s a really cool water feature…

Perhaps the best part of this splash pad is the cool water feature along the southern wall. It’s a big concrete fountain that has water flowing over the edges. Kids can play in the “canal” portion and even put their feet in the water and splash around! My 3-year old daughter absolutely loved this, and I appreciated the nice big shade tree.

The Gilbert Water Tower and Water Tower Park are located in downtown Gilbert, AZ. As you drive into town, just look for the water tower and park nearby in the free parking.

Nearby restaurants include Liberty Market (my favorite!), Postino’s, Joe’s Real BBQ, Bergies Coffee House, and many more! On Saturday’s, they have a farmers market in the morning at the end of the block, and that can be a ton of fun, too!

The downtown Gilbert area is one of my favorite downtown areas. It feels extremely well designed. You can tell that the city planners have taken great care to develop a family friendly area that is also walking-friendly.
