Gilbert Regional Park

Today, my son and I visited the grand opening of the new Gilbert Regional Park. This park includes a large, multi-area playground and a huge splash pad, all surrounded by ramadas that are perfect for parties and gatherings. With the beautiful upcoming Arizona fall and winter just around the corner, a new park is absolutely perfect! This is an excellent addition to the East Valley (especially those who live in East Mesa, Gilbert, or Queen Creek), but if you are more centrally located, it is still worth the drive.

This weekend, my son and I visited the grand opening of the new Gilbert Regional Park. This park includes a large, multi-area playground and a huge splash pad, all surrounded by ramadas that are perfect for parties and gatherings. With the beautiful upcoming Arizona fall and winter just around the corner, a new park is absolutely perfect!

The current park structures include three different areas: The Mountain, The Falls and The Creek.

The Mountain, which is a 17-foot tall, tri-level play structure with multiple slides, climbing structures, swing sets, and a zipline.

The Falls is the splash area of the park. The Falls is 4,000-square-feet and has 57 different splash features. This splash pad is open year-round until 10 pm every night! There is plenty of room to run and play. The splash pad is surrounded by beautiful green grass where you can throw down a few towels, dry off, and have a picnic. Or, if your kids are older, you can lounge out and relax and watch your children splash!

The Creek is designed for the littles and is a playground located in between the Falls and the Mountain. The climbing structures and slides in this area are smaller and allow preschoolers and toddlers their own safe place to play. This area has some shade, which will be nice for the warmer Fall and Spring days!

There are bathrooms available and many areas to sit. This is an excellent addition to the East Valley (especially those who live in East Mesa, Gilbert, or Queen Creek), but if you are more centrally located, it is still worth the drive. There was plenty of parking and I anticipate that in a few weeks, the park won’t be as busy as it was today! It is the perfect spot to bring lunch or snacks and spend a few hours having fun!

Today was just the opening of phase one. There is still a lot more planned for the Gilbert Regional Park! Summer 2020 is expected to bring a sports lawn, over 30 new sports facilities, as well as a 21-acre lake. In 2021, the highly anticipated waterpark, known as The Strand is expected to open. The Strand is a one-of-a-kind water resort that will include a surf lagoon and a wakeboarding lake. You can read more about the updates here and here. For more information and to inquire about ramada rentals visit the park’s website.

I love to go out to restaurants, binge-watch TV shows with my husband, and keep up with everything Disney! I am grateful that my work-from-home husband keeps up with the laundry and dishes so that I can spend my free time having fun and planning the next family adventure! By exposing my kids to the world around them, I hope that I teach them to love having fun as much as I do! Follow my Instagram @lindsaylutes to see more of my family and our fun adventures.
