Eastmark Great Park in Mesa is a collection of numerous amenities that will interest a wide age range of children! Besides a unique playground, there is also a lake, splashpad, and a retro diner for lunch or dinner!
The signature of Eastmark Great Park is the epic climbing structure, otherwise known as the Orange Monster. Apparently it was designed by kids, for kids! This structure twists and turns with play netting that will give all ages a fun challenge. Our kids loved it! Don’t miss the small slide at one end. (As an FYI – this structure might get hot quicker than other playground equipment. Do a hand test before letting children climb in the warmer months.)
For those not up for climbing the monster, there’s also swings, toddler slides, some fun half circle structures, and a smaller net structure to climb and reach two slides. There’s also a small faux grass area to the side – the kids enjoyed rolling down the short hill here.
The nearby lake had a few ducks that we enjoyed watching, and there was a nice walking path that meandered around and beyond, connecting with other paved walking paths. It was so peaceful. The splashpad looked fun, although too cold for our February visit. Arizona Foothills Magazine named it one of the Valley’s best Splashpads! We can see why: the palm trees surrounding the pad and plaza are very beautiful. Lots of green grass is available for picnics and games and running space!
Also by the splashpad you’ll find the Handlebar Diner. They serve lunch and dinner, weekend brunch, drinks, and offer a $6 kids menu. The inside only seats 8-10, but the patio is large and picturesque! We stopped for lunch; the kids had grilled cheese and hotdog with fries, and mama had a burger. The onion rings were melt in your mouth! This is a super cute place not to be missed during your visit to Eastmark Great Park.
Between the diner there is Steadfast Farm. This commercial urban farm grows fruits and vegetables for Eastmark residences and restaurants. We didn’t get a chance to explore this area, and it may not be open to the public. But it was a refreshing addition to the normal parks we visit!
Restrooms at Eastmark Great Park in Mesa at near the playground. Ramadas and benches are scattered around the park. The splashpad runs year round, 7am-10pm. The Handlebar Diner is open various hours: Monday 4pm-10pm, Tuesday-Friday 11am-10pm, Saturday 8am-10pm, and Sunday 8am-8pm.

Good day, does the park allow personal gas grills, awnings, canopies? If so, do reservations need to be made or is it on a first. One first serve basis?
