Right off of Pima and Thomas, Pima Park has a little of everything you need! Sports, playgrounds, plenty of grass to run around and a water feature to cool you off. I often choose this park because the playgound is nice, there are restrooms if needed and there is a mist of water to cool you off.
Splash Pad
Called a water feature at this park, there is a concrete jungle just south of the playground with water misters. Like all Scottsdale water parks, there is a button to push to turn it on. The sprayers stay on for quite a while. Long enough that you aren’t constantly having to hit the button to turn them back on. Numerous misters spray water into a circle area for playing, dancing, water balloon fights, whatever you want. There is also room to climb up the sides as well. Nothing fancy, but a great addition to this park.
Playground
This park features a big kid playground and little kid playground. 4 big kid swings and 2 toddler swings. The big kid playground includes slides, rock wall, a bridge and lots of climbing equipment. The little kid playground includes slides, a small rock wall, drums and smaller climbing equipment.
My absolute favorite thing is the bridge on the big kid playground. I love the looks on faces when they realize it moves!
Picnic
Five drop in ramadas are located throughout the park. Some are near the courts, some are near the playground and some are set back in the grass if you don’t want to be around other people.
Park
This 7 acre park features a shaded playground, water feature, five drop in ramadas, three lighted basketball courts, one lighted sand volleyball court and a restrooom.
The park is amenities are first come first serve. If you are planning on having a catered event, inflatables or any specialty item they ask that you call the facility in advance to verify the company’s insurance information.
Getting There
Turn north on 86th Street off Thomas and you will see the park on your right (east). There is plenty parking all along the street. Note the courts are on the south side of the park, playground in the middle and the grassy stretch is to the north end of the park.
