Jake’s Unlimited in Mesa. For a kid, what is better than arcade games, laser tag, cosmic bowling, rides, and all-you-can-eat pizza?! At Jake’s Unlimited in Mesa you can get all of that- and even finish off all of the fun with a stop at Jake’s Sweet Shoppe for some Unicorn Cotton Candy Tacos!
We stopped by Jake’s Unlimited to take advantage of their Sun Break Summer Special which includes all-day admission, unlimited food & soft drinks, unlimited rides & attractions, unlimited laser tag, unlimited arcade games (Arcade games will not issue tickets unless a separate Fun Card is purchased), one Game of Bowling (Incl. Shoe Rental), and two games of Mini Bowling. You get all of this for $25, which means if you come at the opening, you can eat and play and then eat dinner before you leave! It is a great deal for everything that is offered. Kids under 3 are free but are only able to have unlimited food and soft drinks and all-day teacups and carousel rides.
The kids were immediately drawn to the arcade games. Alex loves air hockey and there were plenty of tables for him to have fun and play at. The kids were able to play any arcade game, but no “tickets” were issued. You can purchase a “fun card” and games will give tickets that can then be exchanged for prizes. There were many different arcade games available- from the traditional games to more unique games such as extra-large multi-player Pac-Man, Connect 4, and Space Invaders. There is an area for younger kids to play also. There is also a VR Zone with nine different VR attractions- these cost extra and my younger kids weren’t quite ready for this area.
After exploring the arcade games, we decided it was time to eat! It was buffet style and we grabbed fruit, pizza, nachos, and a salad and went to the “movie dining room” where each room was showing a different children’s movie. There are also other dining areas available where sports games are being played on the TVs or just a quieter room to enjoy the food!
Next, the kids were ready for rides! Emily was able to do the carousel and the teacups (she’s 3 so we didn’t pay her admission) and Alex was able to do all of the rides- the Radius, Frog Hopper, and bumper cars. We rode off and for the rest of the time we were there, which the kids loved mixing into all of the other fun activities.
We then tried mini-bowling, which was a fast and easy way to get exposure to bowling. By this point, the kids were begging to visit Jake’s Sweet Shoppe and grab desserts. The desserts are available for an additional cost, but they are huge and delicious (there is a free soft-serve machine in the buffet area though)! We decided to try the Unicorn Cotton Candy Tacos (world-famous!!) and the Choc-LIT Shake. Both were so good and definitely worth the extra cost. A family of four could easily have shared the cotton candy tacos, so for an extra $10 it isn’t bad at all!

Afterward, we decided to try our first ever family bowling game! The summer pass includes one game of bowling with shoe rental. This was the perfect break from gaming! Alex then played a few rounds of laser tag, while Emily rode on the carousel over and over.
The kids continued to play, ride, and then were ready for dinner! The kids filled up on more pizza and I was happy to take home exhausted, filled-up kiddos, who were ready to head straight to the bath and then to bed. We spent about eight hours at Jake’s Unlimited and I would definitely call the day a success! In addition to just stopping by for the day, they offer birthday parties, corporate events, and adult-only bars and pool tables. During the year (and pre-Covid), special events have been hosted, such as breakfast with Santa/Easter Bunny.
Besides the $25 summer pass, there are other admission passes available at different price points with different activities. Passes start at $12 (for unlimited food/drink) and go up depending on what you want to do. Oftentimes, they run specials through their email list and through Groupon. The hours are Sunday – Saturday, 11 am – 10 pm. Unlimited food & soft drinks are available until 9 pm.
We noticed that the staff was sanitizing everything constantly while we were there, which was reassuring to us. We will definitely be visiting Jake’s Unlimited more often!
