Firetruck Visit at Your Home from Scottsdale Fire Department
Do you have a kid that loves fire trucks? I have two that love our local fire department so much, they think they work for them! We have attended every event that a fire truck would be at for as long as I can remember. From story time at the Scottsdale Library, to Halloween at Chick-Fil-A, to the firetruck showing up at Arizona Railway Day – we have had a lot of opportunities to climb in and go for a drive.
At a 2019 Christmas party, my super shy won’t let anyone touch her daughter let an officer names Ken lift her up and show her the flashing lights on the truck! On our way back from my son’s first X-ray, we pulled up next to a fire truck and I rolled his window down so the nice fireman could wave. William was so excited to see “my friend on the firetruck” his pain subsided. Such touching moments.

In April, this mom had to have surgery. And what better way to make Mommy feel better that a visit from a firetruck?! While resting the day after surgery we heard the familiar noise of a fire siren. Both kids immediately stopped playing and yelled “Fire truck”, which is not uncommon in our house. Only this time it got louder and louder. We ran outside in time to see Engine 603 pull up in front of the house, sirens on and lights flashing!
The firefighters passed out hats to the kids and stayed inside the truck (maintaining social distancing since it was April 2020). We went around and said hi to everyone. They invited us to come visit them at the station as soon as possible.
They got a call and had to take off for work, sirens on, horn honking and waving bye. My kids talked about their friends the fire fighters stopping by for weeks! They are excited for our first visit to the fire house. And now that they are big enough to climb, this mom is excited to watch them.
Thank you Captain Cashion, Engineer Masciotra, Fire Fighter Chester, and Fire Fighter Salago. As my kids would say “Thank you, fire truck friends”
To schedule your visit click here. Please give them 30 days to process your request. This was a special occasion offered during the stay at home order that will not be offered once the world has opened back up. Right now it is top priority to keep our heroes safe and healthy so they are able to help those who need it. Once it is safe, we will be able to use the link to schedule visits to the fire house. Also keep in mind any emergency could interrupt the visit, as they take priorities.
