Washington Park in Phoenix has a newly updated playground, plus numerous walking paths and a unique ninja course! This is a great park to check out this winter and enjoy the beautiful weather!
The playground is a woodchip park, with a toddler playground and an age 5+ playground (though our toddler was all over the older playground.) There are slides, multiple levels, monkey bars, and more. You’ll also find two sets of swings at this park, plus a fun merry go round you hold on to and spin. Speaking of spinning, there are two spinning chairs by the toddler swings too.
The highlight of this playground? A zipline! The kids loved this! It’s not a very fast zipline, but it does go. You can access it from platforms on either side, and older kids will be able to get on it from the ground. Overall, this is a great update. Kudos to the City of Phoenix!
As previously mentioned, there is also a ninja course at this park! It is located closer to the community center, with turf laid around the course. The kids commented that it was similar to courses found at Rush Fun Park and Urban Air! This is a great place to test skills and build confidence for any age!
Washington Park in Phoenix offers restrooms, in addition to a community center and seasonal pool, plus basketball and tennis courts, and a dog park. Walking paths meander around the park as well. To access the playground easier, park at the pool (north area of the park). Access the ninja course, park at the community center (south area of the park).
