Pumpkin Patches in Phoenix

Updated for 2023! It’s fall, and here’s our guide to all pumpkin patches in Arizona!
Pumpkin Patches in Phoenix, AZ

Which Phoenix pumpkin patch is best for your family?

We are often asked by our readers for recommendations of the best pumpkin patch in the Phoenix area. First, which one is closest to you? We recommend checking out that location, for the sake of convenience. (We always go to MacDonald’s Ranch in Scottsdale for this reason!) Make it a weekend family event, or meet up with friends for a playdate.

Also, consider the ages of your children. Do you have little ones under 5? Vertuccio Farms or Mother Nature’s Farm might suit your family better. Or, if you live in the West Valley, try Tolmachoff Farms. Schnepf Farms is also fun and has a lot to keep older children and teens occupied, definitely worth the drive.

Are you trying to save money? Check Groupon or each venue’s website for possible coupons and discounts! Remember, most places are free for ages 2 and under.

Or take a day trip this year to one of the six pumpkin patches outside of Phoenix! Anywhere from 1.5-3 hours will give you cooler weather, fall vibes, and pumpkins galore.

We took the family to MacDonald’s Ranch recently to check out their pumpkin patch. It is $15/person.

Officially, MacDonald’s Ranch is a petting zoo, event venue, and a horse ranch. You can ride horses, ponies, and take hay rides around the ranch. They have multiple food venues, and on the days we visited there were amazing shave ice and popcorn vendors. They were also selling barbecue sandwiches, hot dogs, and beef jerky.

As far as the pumpkin patch goes, we really enjoyed our time. Our daughter picked out a pumpkin that only cost us $2 and the quality of the pumpkin is superb. It’s not quite the same as actually picking your pumpkin out of the field it was grown in, but I’m not exactly sure where you would go for that.
