Mesquite Groves Aquatic Center in Chandler hosts a lazy river with a bridge waterfall, a family play pool, an interactive water feature with a 6-foot 725-gallon tumble bucket, two waterslides, water vortex, water spray pad, and an eight-lane competition pool.
We visited during pre-season and it was packed. This particular location is a popular pool, with lots of options for kids of all ages. We found a small spot to stash our stuff. All the chairs and tables were taken with people holding their pool stuff. So I found a small spot that would be shaded eventually and put our stuff down. A small waterproof bag for phones, wallets, etc. flip shoes over or cover completely, I set up a little tent with our towel and left things half shaded.
The floor is HOT, kids wanted to be carried. I am not sure if it would be allowed, but I would consider putting lake shoes that are like socks on the kids. We stayed 2 hours, just long enough to wear out the kids.

The water spray pad was not all that busy while we were there. I did see some parents with young babies, buckets of water, and sunshades, which seemed like a smart way to keep little kids who can’t swim cool.
I learned about a water vortex about a week before we visited Mesquite Groves. A vortex is an area in a fluid (air or water) where the flow spins around an axis line and can take a straight or curved shape. So you basically get in here and it’s like a tornado, whirlwind spinning you around. Our 4-year-olds loved it.
A few bigger kids were trying to do tricks and things and kept bumping into us, so we left and went back when there wasn’t anyone and just enjoyed spinning. Close up of my child having a blast hanging on to Dad as they spun!

Food and Drink
You may bring in your own drinks and snacks. The website states you may bring one cooler 7” x 7” x 9” (six-pack size) in dimensions per guest. However, I saw people with giant coolers being rolled in.
I packed a very small cooler with pouches, protein bars, and a few small snacks. I also brought an extra-large tumbler with ice water in our mesh pool bag. I had a larger cooler with fresh fruit and more food in the car for after swimming which I was glad we had because once we left the kids were suddenly very hungry.
Rules
Please shower and use the bathroom before swimming. All people entering will be charged admission. Guests with open wounds are not permitted to swim. If you are sick or ill (diarrhea, incontinence, vomiting) you will be asked to visit the facility after you have recovered from the illness. Birthday parties are not allowed during public hours, you are able to rent the facility.

Open for the season May 27th. Per the website “Chandler Aquatics establishes the operational hours to coincide with the Chandler Unified School District Academic Calendar. Once school resumes, we cease daily operations at the facilities.“

Family Pass is Valid from March to November for Chandler residents to spend the summer in all six aquatic centers for $112 for a family of 4.
Safety Reminder – Flotation devices, water wings, and flotation-filled swimsuits are prohibited unless U.S. Coast Guard approved.
