Rocker 7 Pumpkin Patch in Buckeye

Visiting the pumpkin patch is one of my favorite fall traditions, but to be perfectly honest, life for our family has been busier than ever. That’s why when we visited Rocker 7 Farm Patch in Buckeye, Arizona on opening day this year, I was over the moon to see their simple yet thoughtful set up. It had every bit of charm on the farm in a way that wasn’t overly crowded or mass-produced.

Rocker 7 Pumpkin Patch in Buckeye.

The Perfect Pumpkin Patch

With my two boys, a 2 year-old and 7 year-old, in tow, we ventured out to Rocker 7 Farm Patch’s opening day which was a Thursday. The mid-week hours are limited, so we arrived a little after 3 p.m., and once we paid for admission, we headed straight for the pumpkins. They were stacked in piles all throughout an open field in an assortment of sizes. There was even a pumpkin ring toss game nearby and big tires set up in an obstacle-course-like fashion.

Sunflowers in Bloom

Beyond the pumpkin area is the sunflower field. Some were in full bloom, and you can tell there are many more ready to burst. There are plenty of rows to meander through, and the palm trees and golden hour sunlight made it all so picturesque. My littlest loved getting up close and personal with the sunflowers. Most of them were at his height which made for the cutest photos.

So Many Ways to Play

The main play area is large and spacious, and naturally, this is where the kids spent most of their time. You can choose from simple games like pumpkin tic-tac-toe or hop on one of the farm-style peddle cars. There’s an area to try your hand at the lasso as well as a jumping pillow, mini straw maze, pumpkin bowling and playground-like structures including slides and tire jungle gyms.

My two-year-old spent the most time in the corn pit. Each trough was filled with various toys ranging from farm animals to fruits and vegetables to various scoops and shovels. Around the corner, there’s a pretend hen house with plastic eggs for little ones to collect and wooden trees with hanging oranges for children to “pick”.

Where Did the Time Go?

Be careful as time flies when you’re having fun at Rocker 7. Before I knew it, we were minutes away from closing time and didn’t get a chance to check out the cotton and sorghum fields. Regardless, we had more than our fair share of fun. In the midst of all the busyness that fall can bring, it felt good to spend a few hours enjoying the simple pleasures of Rocker 7 Farm Patch.
