Little Canyon Park in Phoenix is nestled on the outskirts of the Grand Canyon University. With the first phase of renovation complete and second phase beginning this month, this is a fantastic park to check out in 2024.

The most exciting update to the park is the first Bank Shot Court in Arizona! Bank Shot is best described as mini-golf but with a basketball. The court consists of hoops positioned at different heights with angled backboards where players earn point values based on where they shoot the ball from.

We had a blast trying Bank Shot Basketball for the first time! The court was so versatile that we played a full round by the rules as well as creating our own. Most kids at the park were having fun just making baskets in the brightly colored hoops skipping the rules altogether. The court was perfect for all ages with trick shots to keep the older kids interested and hoops at shorter heights for the little ones.

Little Canyon Park also has a regular basketball court, sand volleyball court, multi-purpose sports field, restrooms, a walking path and lots of newly installed picnic tables and ramadas. Plus the park has outdoor ping pong tables and cornhole boards so remember to bring your paddles, balls, and bean bags if you’ve got them!

What’s next for Little Canyon Park in Phoenix? The second phase of renovations is happening now and scheduled through February. This update will include a playground, swings and lots of features to balance and spin on. Our family is excited to go back and see all the updates later this year when construction is complete. Stay tuned!
