BBQ Weekend at CCV (Christ’s Church of the Valley) is a fun family event involving yard games and yummy BBQ!

We visited the North Phoenix CCV campus this month on a Saturday evening and had a great evening! (Joining the service is optional.) For $5, we got 4 melt-in-your-mouth BBQ ribs, potato salad, pasta salad, chips, and a drink. The food was truly delicious.

They also had hotdogs, hamburgers and such, which was good for our 4 year old who doesn’t like ribs. Tables were set up by the lawn area, and we enjoyed dinner while chatting with other families.

The lawn area had numerous games setup, with options like hula hoops, footballs, and basketballs (there are are hoops too). There was some organized games too by two CCV helpers. One was a hula hoop contest for the adults – which this mama did NOT win, but did have fun. A Kona Ice truck was also onsite offering shave ice treats.

We had fun getting out on a Saturday night for tasty food, and a low key atmosphere to enjoy as a family!

The BBQ weekend at CCV is an annual event, usually in early November, and at multiple locations. 2023 had 15 campuses participating, so there’s definitely a location near you. Check out their website for updates, and for information about other upcoming events, like their Sensory Santa (another event we highly recommend).
