Have you been to a Phoenix Rising soccer game? If not, it’s something every family should try at least once! Games offer professional level events at a value price, a small venue to learn about the sport, the chance to take part in activities, and more. After attending our first Phoenix Rising game, we were immediately in love!
Before the game started, goalie Patrick Rakovsky came over and handed my daughter his gloves. She was so shocked she didn’t know what to say. Turns out it’s a tradition, and two months later in August of 2023 Patrick and his wife Shannon welcomed baby girl Llya to the Rising family.
With bleacher seats starting at $25, and specials are always being offered, we choose to sit on the north bleachers, closest to the parking and near a lot of activities for kids to participate in. Games start a little late, so it’s nice to have the ability to get up and move around if kids need it.
Concessions
Craft Culinary Concepts is the exclusive concessionaire for Phoenix Rising matches. There is a grill near the main entrance sells chicken tenders, chicken sandwiches, pulled pork sandwiches, carnitas fries and loaded nachos. No outside food or beverage is allowed into the stadium, with the exception of sealed plastic water bottles. The website says “no bigger than 20 oz. and up to two bottles per person” however when we have attended, we have brought in lots of frozen water bottles, in a clear bag, and not had any problems. Accommodations for people with dietary restrictions may be made, and we were able to bring in snacks for the kids just fine.
The player interaction is fun. Players are known to come out and sign autographs and take photos after the game. We got some high fives as players left the field.
The Supporter Side waves flags, cheers and has the most amazing energy that spreads through the stadium.
Kid Friendly
Gates open about 90 minutes before the game starts and there is plenty to do to entertain kids. Kids can play soccer, there was a local pool company giving away pool floats one night, there is a kick to win a present from Carvana game and more. My kids loved the merchandise shop where they got new hats to support their new favorite team.
Theme Nights
The Phoenix Rising offer many theme nights throughout the year. We attended Christmas In July where they had a blow up Santa, gave away sweater koozies.
Keep an eye on social media for theme nights, including a 2023 fan appreciation game that we will offer discounted tickets to.
Parking
Phoenix Rising operates all lots (General Lots 1-5 and the Express Lot) south of Washington Street. Fans will be charged for using these lots. To purchase your parking pass, click here. You can also take the light rail, just steps from the 38th St/Washington light rail stop, which is branded in Rising colors.
Community Events
Phoenix Rising is involved in a lot of community events. From fundraising to player appearances around town.
Information To Know
Soccer matches consist of two 45 minute halves. Games start at 7:30 or 8, so it’s a late night for kids.
It is encouraged to not bring bags to the stadium. Clear bags, diaper bags and medical bags are allowed in. We have a large stadium sized clear bag I fill with frozen water bottles to bring in.
Seat cushions and seat backs for bleacher sections are permitted.
Fans are not permitted to keep soccer balls hit into the stands. Phoenix Rising asks fans to hand the ball to the nearest Rising staff member or nearest ball kid on the field.
