Best Pools in the City of Phoenix. Hi Phoenix Families! Whether you’re aiming to teach your little ones how to swim, planning a special summer event, need a pool workout, or just craving a refreshing dip, the City of Phoenix pools have got you covered!

12 pools will be open May 27 to July 30 (except Fridays). Be sure to visit Coronado, Cortez, Deer Valley, El Prado, Encanto, Maryvale, Paradise Valley, Pecos, Roosevelt, Starlight, Sunnyslope, and Washington pools.

These pools are open from May 27 to June 29 (except Fridays): Cielito, Harmon, and Perry pools.

These pools are open July 3 to July 30 (except Fridays): Falcon, Pierce, and University pools.

What’s even better is that certain pools will be extending their swim season. Think Cortez, Encanto, Maryvale, Paradise Valley, Pecos, Roosevelt, Sunnyslope, and Pierce Pools! These eight pools will be open on weekends all the way until Labor Day. Mark your calendars for August 5-6, 12-13, 19-20, 26-27, and September 2-4.

We vistied Cortez Pool this summer and had a blast! The water slide were fast (but not too fast to be scary), our 8 year old loved the diving boards, and the zero depth entry pool went waist deep on our 4 year old, which was perfect. Also, a bonus was the large shade structures over this small pool! It really helped battle the afternoon heat.

The Kool Kids program offers complimentary open swim entry for young people at designated City of Phoenix pools.

What to pack for a day at the pool? Sunscreen, hats, and sunglasses are a must. Grab comfy towels, water shoes, and extra swim diapers for the littles. Stay hydrated with refillable water bottles and pack some healthy snacks to keep the energy up. Don’t forget water-safe toys and floaties for extra giggles.
