Currently, SunThru is focused on scaling our manufacturing capabilities to meet the needs of our customers.

Comments from SunThru:

"The software is working out great, it is very useful for a small company to have access to SOLIDWORKS software and its capabilities. We definitely want to continue to use the software in the future and hopefully when our 1 year is up, we can figure out the next steps to take to continue the program in some capacity.

We became aware of the program through the CEO John Costa and his relationship with Sean Farrell (one of our former classmates and friends at Union College).

For feedback, I would say our engineers found the platform a little difficult to navigate and the installation process was a little confusing (e.g. having to find solidworks Connect as the actual location to install).

After reaching out to you guys, they were able to figure it out, but that is the only criticism that we have because the program is great overall."

Solving Key Challenges in Process Engineering https://trimech.com/solving-key-challenges-in-process-engineering/ Thu, 29 Aug 2024 19:19:09 +0000 https://trimech.com/?p=70342
In this webinar, attendees will be introduced to connecting Engineering Bill of Materials (EBOM) data to the Manufacturing Bill of Materials (MBOM) in the Dassault Systemes 3DEXPERIENCE Platform. This ongoing connection allows users to plan a process for manufacturing while continuing to design the product and its variants. It does not matter where the design data resides whether it is CATIA, SOLIDWORKS, or another design tool. These relationships and connections can be maintained to allow the MBOM to be updated based on changes in the EBOM.
Join us as TriMech Product Manager Joe Hugan discusses the solutions to key process engineering challenges like “Make vs, Buy”, increasing model rariants, handling engineering changes, and balancing the complexity of a process versus shop floor flexibility. In summary, the main focus of the webinar will be how to solve these challenges by having design and manufacturing access to the same data that is always current and relevant.

During this webinar, you will learn:

  • The definition and use cases for EBOM and MBOM in developing process plans.
  • The methods used to update and maintain process plan data from EBOM through use in process plans.
  • Use case examples of process plans and how changes are propagated through the system.
  • Understanding the difference between process planning and CAD data management
  • A description of the next steps beyond process planning and the implications related to data management.
