If your little one can transform a humble sheet of paper into a wonderland of imagination faster than you can say “origami,”, or loves open ended imagination, then you must experience Paper Planet, Create and Imagine with Polyglot Theatre and Tempe Center for the Arts.

Prepare to embark on a journey into a whimsical realm where everything, and I mean everything, is crafted from the humblest of materials: paper and tape. It’s a place where creativity knows no bounds and every corner holds a new adventure waiting to unfold.

But here’s the twist: you’re not just a passive observer in this paper paradise. Oh no, you’re an active participant in the unfolding spectacle! Children and their accompanying grown-ups (yes, even us big kids) are invited to roll up their sleeves and dive headfirst into the artistic fray. Armed with nothing but paper, tape, and boundless imagination, you’ll have the opportunity to add your own unique flair to this ever-evolving landscape.

My kids loved this! We made butterfly wings and turtles, a palm tree, and just threw paper in the air and laughed as it fluttered to the ground. Our 9 year old loves this kind of open ended creativity and with the help of an employee, make a fantastic dinosaur tail and horns. The creations came home with us and were the highlight of our day!

Members from the Polyglot group also roamed around with their own animal creations, which was so whimsical and cute. A music DJ welcomed children to come to the mike and make animals noises, adding to the forest ambience.

Session times for Paper Planet:

Friday-Sunday, March 22-24, 2024 with three daily sessions of 9:30 AM, 11:30 AM, and 2:00 PM. Each session is 1 hour. Cost is $15/person (2 and under free), and $10/members.

Tempe Center For The Arts is located at 700 W Rio Salado Pkwy, Tempe, AZ 85281. Learn more on their website.
