From here you click on a file and seemingly nothing happens. You might wait for a little bit, then get up to get some more coffee or chat up a coworker, and finally, when you come back the dialogue has loaded. Unfortunately, at this point, the mojo is gone and you really don’t have the motivation to keep working. We typically see this occur when connecting to SOLIDWORKS PDM over a great distance (i.e. working in a satellite office when the PDM Server is at headquarters across the country). However, within SOLIDWORKS PDM Professional there are mechanisms where we can alleviate some of the latency and get back to a faster, more productive work environment.

Join us as SOLIDWORKS Data Management Expert, Sawyer Gara, leads us through an overview of SOLIDWORKS PDM Professional Replication. We’ll start off by discussing the architectural fundamentals of a PDM Server and how it all interacts with the end user. After understanding the architecture, we’ll dive into PDM Replication and understand why you might want to consider replicating your PDM Server. From there, we go a little deeper into some of the nuances of SOLIDWORKS PDM Replication. Finally, we’ll discuss some keys to success and areas to think about when implementing Vault Replication.

During this SOLIDWORKS PDM webinar, you will learn:

  • The Fundamentals of PDM Server Architecture
  • Understand SOLIDWORKS PDM Replication
  • Learn the Benefits of Replicating PDM
  • Differentiate Archive Server vs. Database Server Replication
  • Keys to a Successful Replication

solidworks startup sunthru
SunThru LLC
ARCHITECTURAL INDUSTRIES

SunThru LLC is a small start-up company based in Schenectady, NY focused on producing highly transparent aerogel monoliths.

With a small team of mechanical engineers and chemists, we also focus on developing various aerogel techniques that allow for aerogels to be easily integrated into Insulated Glazing Units (IGUs).

Currently, SunThru is focused on scaling our manufacturing capabilities to meet the needs of our customers.

Comments from SunThru:

"The software is working out great, it is very useful for a small company to have access to SOLIDWORKS software and its capabilities. We definitely want to continue to use the software in the future and hopefully when our 1 year is up, we can figure out the next steps to take to continue the program in some capacity.

We became aware of the program through the CEO John Costa and his relationship with Sean Farrell (one of our former classmates and friends at Union College).

For feedback, I would say our engineers found the platform a little difficult to navigate and the installation process was a little confusing (e.g. having to find solidworks Connect as the actual location to install).

After reaching out to you guys, they were able to figure it out, but that is the only criticism that we have because the program is great overall."
