The Canyon Coaster Adventure Park in Williams is year-round family fun! Williams, Arizona is located about 3 hours north of Phoenix.
What will you find at Canyon Coaster Adventure Park? From about November to April visitors can experience tubing down snow-covered slopes. The park will have an 8-lane tubing hill that gives everyone in the family a chance to tube. The tubing hill will have two uphill lifts (a conveyor belt), which move riders to the top of the slopes, so no more carrying the tube up the hill! The conveyor belt is also covered.
The tubing run converts to summer fun, with numerous tracks to enjoy tubing without the chill!
For the warmer months, a mountain coaster ride called The Canyon Coaster spans several acres and offers a mile ride on a stainless-steel-tube track. Watch out for descents, turns, and more, all controlled by the rider. This ride is super unique to Arizona and the only one of it’s kind in the state!
In addition to this fun, there is a lodge where visitors can grab a bite to eat. Look for familiar food items like burgers, and a full bar. The base lodge offers over 3,000 sq. ft. of outdoor covered decking too. The deck view looks out over Williams! Our lunch was tasty, and portions were large. It was a decent place for food overall.
The kids loved the coaster! (Parents did too!) It’s a quick ride but super fun. If you can, don’t use the brake at all until needed at the end, and you’ll be treated to an amusement park ride. Our three-year-old wasn’t thrilled about it, and only rode once (but she didn’t cry on the ride, so that’s a plus). We visited on a weekday and had no wait. We were told that weekends can have a 1.5-2hr wait, so keep that in mind when planning a visit.
The summer tubing was ok. The run is even shorter than the alpine coaster. It was fun according to the kids, but didn’t seem worth the price.
Our thoughts on the experience? The alpine coaster is super unique and worth a try! Just note that for a family, it can be pricy. It cost our family of five $80 to all ride the coaster just once. Multiple rides will add up fast and of this post, there is no week-day discount, family pricing, etc.
