Casa Grande Ruins with Kids

At the peak, this Casa Grande was home to 2,000 people. By 1450 the Sonoran people begin to leave and there is numerous theories as to why.

There is no fee to visit the Casa Grande Ruins, and it’s about an hour drive south of Phoenix. By the 1880’s more people began to visit the ruins and in 1892, President Harrison made this the first cultural reserve in the United States.

This is a brief but interesting spot to visit with kids to gain more knowledge in Arizona history!

Our 5 year old enjoyed the scavenger hunt bingo photos, and there was some puzzles and hands on activities inside the visitor’s center.
