Main Event in Gilbert is a not-to-miss indoor entertainment option for kids and adults. They offer bowling, laser tag, a ropes course, and more for literally hours of fun!

It can be overwhelming to step into Main Event for the first time, so we suggest going first to the ticket counter to look over options. As mentioned before, Main Event offers laser tag, a ropes course, and bowling PLUS billiards, an extensive arcade, and a new experience, Story Rooms. You can pay per activity, or purchase a pass that covers most of the activities! The arcade games are played using a Fun Card, and points earned are redeemable for prizes. We chose the pass for the three kids in our group, and the adults just took photos.

The kids’ favorite? Definitely the ropes course! This was above the arcade, 20 feet in the air, with some fun (and difficult) obstacles including a zip line. There are numerous options, so be brave and explore! Note that you must be 48” or taller for the ropes course, and once you do the zip line twice, your time is done. Two of the girls tried the laser tag, and all played bowling and arcade games. Combining this with snacks, we spent almost 5 hours at Main Event!

It’s worth mentioning that new to Main Event in Gilbert are Story Rooms – think teamwork to solve puzzles and complete tasks, all in a racing 20 minutes! Each experience is best with 4-8 people, ages 8+, and involves assignments at various stations. Participants will work solo and work as a team to win the game.

For Candy Chaos, you’re helping get a candy factory operational, then need to follow various sequences to keep the candy production running. Space Squad in Space involves delivering a special package, but the ship also needs piloting and managing – and watch out for the approaching warship!

Our verdict? Super unique and fun! We really enjoyed both games, and won the space experience. It was a good challenge! Don’t be afraid to communicate! Call out what you need on your screen, because it may involve a button or a sequence entered from another station. Instructions switch often from the main screen to the stations, which will keep you on your toes. If you’re lost, an employee will be in the room to help. The Story Rooms are $10/person, per game, and $12/person at peak time.

Oh, and the food options at Main Event? Besides the basic pizza and chicken fingers and nachos, there is a bar with drink options for adults, AND an epic sundae. The Big Fun Sundae is $15 and we totally devoured it. It was a fun way to end our time at Main Event!

Main Event in Gilbert is open 11 am-midnight on Tuesday-Thursday and Sunday, 11 am-2 am on Friday, 9 am-2 am on Saturday, and 11 am-1 am on Monday. The all-you-can-play activity pass is $22.99/person, with other activities ranging from $37.50/5 people to $10.50/person for the ropes course. See their website for details! They can also host birthday parties.

Note that there are two other Main Event locations in the Phoenix area, Tempe and Avondale, which offer the same activities. However, only the Gilbert location has the Story Rooms! Overall, we feel that all Main Event locations are good for ages 5 and up, with the best age range being 8 and up. Great for teens!
