Desert Sky Park in Gilbert is fun for all ages. From young kids just learning to slide, to athlete’s training at the obstacle course, to people with remote controlled boats on the lake, it’s a great park to bring a picnic lunch and spend the day!

Playground

This wood chip playground is huge! From the teeter-totter (or is it a see-saw?) to the spinning circles, climbing wall, swings you can lay all the way down on to the obstacle course.  All the equipment is spread out, which makes it nice for having lots of space. The whole area is covered with shades, which makes this a nice place for warm days.

Note there is a lake at this park, while there is not a fence or gate around the water, the playground is actually about 2 feet down from the concrete pad leading up to the lake. It is climbable, but probably not for young kids. Keep an extra eye on your kids while playing here.

Local friends who live in this area have told me this park gets very busy at times.

Obstacle Course

The Fitcore Extreme Obstacle Course is aimed at ages 13 and up. Challenge your athletic abilities, test your agility, balance, upper and lower body and grip. Compete with others or against yourself. While we were there there was a few very athletic adults making it look easy. There were children attempting to climb and hang as well. I tried not to embarrass myself and stuck with hanging with my three year olds!

Picnic

There are lots of covered ramadas between the lake and the playground. They are on concrete with nothing between them and the water, something to consider if you have young kids. Reservation information available here.

Park

Desert Sky Park in Gilbert has 4 multi-use fields, fitness course, lake, kids playground, ramadas and restrooms. The town of Gilbert has the ability to extend this to up to 16 multi-use fields in the future as the needs arise. There is a charging station near the restrooms by the playground as well. For information on having inflatables, click here.
