Pioneer Park in Peoria has one of the best water parks and playgrounds in the Phoenix West Valley!

When you go, you will want to park in the parking lot off of 83rd because the parking off of 79th will only take you to the baseball fields.

Pioneer Park has three play structures in one convenient area. There is a structure for the little explorers, a medium-size structure, and a large tower for your bigger explorers.

There are nine total slides, six traditional swings, four bucket swings, two spring riders, and plenty of equipment to climb on. During the summer months, the best feature of this park is the Splash pad, not to mention all of the canopy shadings over the playground and splash pad.

The Pioneer Park in Peoria Splashpad is open April 15 – October 15 from 10 AM – 8 PM and is a big hit with my kiddos! There is a large waterwheel that will periodically drop gallons of water, smaller buckets that water will spill from, several spouts, and water guns. It’s a lot of fun!

Bathrooms are conveniently located next to the playground and splash pad.

In addition to the fun playground and splash pad, Pioneer Park has Urban fishing year-round, with a permit needed for adult fishers. Available at the pond are trout, catfish, bass, sunfish, and white amur.

If you take a walk around the fishing pond, keep your eyes peeled for little turtles, and of course, you’ll see many ducks. Last time we were there we even saw a lake-side chicken!

Pioneer Park has large grass multipurpose fields to play in, ramadas close by the playground to host events, a dog park, and six baseball fields. It’s one of those parks that you could spend a couple of hours at easily!
