Kiwanis Park in Peoria is a fun, neighborhood park tucked behind an elementary school. It’s never been busy during our visits! The playground is modern, with some unique features, and it’s partially shaded.

There are two playgrounds, each with their old slides and climbing additions. The four swings are by the toddler playground and include two baby swings. The older kid playground is taller and has more complex climbing additions, but nothing too crazy. There’s a merry go round in the center along with…a zip line!

Yes, the seated zip line addition is what we love about this park! And it’s a zip line that most kids can get on/off themselves, thanks to platforms at each end. Kudos to the City of Peoria for this fantastic addition! We recommended this park to so many families because of the zip line.

Some other features we love at this park:

  • the roller slide (remember those from childhood??)
  • the bridge on the big kid playground
  • three spinning options, from single riders, to 3-5 (or more) friends having fun together.

There are clean restrooms right by the playgrounds, as well as two ramadas with picnic tables. This is a woodchip park. You’ll also find tennis courts nearby, but no basketball courts. There is plenty of green space to run!

A sidewalk runs around the playground, super fun for scooters or beginner bike riders. For that matter, the grassy area would be perfect for helping a kid learn to ride without training wheels!

There is not a designated parking lot for Kiwanis Park in Peoria. Parking stalls are along 78th Drive, and off the main road. You can kinda see the park from the road. Just follow the walk between the fences to the playground!

  1. This park is NOT accessible to anyone with disAbility. SHAME on Peoria!!!! Wood chip surfaces are NOT COMPLIANT. Wheelchairs, walkers, crutches and those with any mobility impairment
CANNOT use this park. SHAME on Peoria

Parents with disAbility cannot bring their able bodied kids because the parents cannot be with their kids. SHAME on Peoria!!!!

Kiwanis should be ashamed of this and FIX THIS. Peoria MUST replace the dismal, dangerous, un healthy wood chips with a surface that meets the disAbled access building standards.
