Best Splashpads in Phoenix

Time for a quick list of the best splashpads in Phoenix! Splashpads are a free way to stay cool in the summer, and every location is different in terms of features included and size of the fountains.

This is by no means a complete directory; just some of our favorites, and ones recommended by our readers. Check your city’s website, usually the parks and recreation page, for more information. Unless otherwise noted, all locations have nearby restrooms.

What is a splashpad? Splashpads (or spraypads ) are outdoor water play areas. Splashpads are usually located at shopping malls or public parks; splashpads have no standing water, so kids can enjoy the water at any age, even toddlers. Our littles ones started enjoying splashpads as soon as they could sit up! As always, keep an eye on your children at all times.

What to bring to a splashpad? Needed items can vary by age of child. Ours always include:

  • swim suits with rashguard
  • sunscreen
  • hats
  • buckets or small cups for play
  • snacks
  • lots of water to drink
  • towels
  • plastic or reusable bag for wet suits

Other possible needed items:

  • water shoes (surfaces can be slippery)
  • extra swim diapers for little ones
  • change of clothes
  • picnic lunch
  • camping chair for parent (not all locations have enough seating)
  • blanket for children to sit on
