Our family is always looking for family-friendly resorts, and the El Conquistador in Tucson is definitely on our list! This resort is located in north Tucson, with the backdrop of the beautiful Catalina Mountains.

The kids definitely loved the pools, especially the pool with the water slide. (The adults may have enjoyed the slide too!) They must have gone down over 2 dozen times, if not more.

Next to the waterslide pool is a smaller pool perfect for toddlers with zero depth entry, and a couple of fountains. One other pool and a hot tub complete the water amenities, and there’s poolside service for snacks and drinks. Our family was perfectly content here for hours!

The on-site dining was also a top favorite from our visit. Epazote Kitchen offered an amazing variety of appetizers and entrees; the pollo nachos and flat iron steak were our favorites, with the pork tenderloin a close second. Kid favorites are also available and don’t forget dessert! The melt in your mouth donut bites will please everyone.

Breakfast at the Sundance Cafe is more casual, band offers a buffet option, or familiar options from a menu. Make your own omelet, or get the Conquistador Burrito. The kids devoured the apple pancakes! Pair this with coffee or juice, and you have a great start to your day. Both restaurants also have lovely patio seating!

One of our favorite activities was simply sitting around one of the evening fire pits. There’s something special about purposely slowing down and telling stories and laughing together. Plus after a full day of activity, relaxing around the glowing fire makes for an easier transition to bedtime.

Speaking of bedroom, we had a 1 bedroom suite, with two queen beds, a large bathroom, and lovely sitting area. It was plenty of space for our family of five! The patio was lovely for evening wine time (for the adults), with beautiful views of the property and mountains.

The resort also has lovely grounds to explore! Take a walk and learn about local plants, or access the nearby Linda Vista hiking trail. There’s a small kid activity center along the resort paths too. Next time we’ll have to borrow the complimentary bikes to discover what else is nearby!

The Hilton El Conquistador is located at 10000 N Oracle Rd, Tucson, AZ 85704, with many local activities nearby like Catalina State Park, Children’s Museum of Oro Valley, and James D. Kreigh Park. Browse these blog posts for ideas as well.

Makes this resort your home the next time you want to explore Tucson! We had such a fun and relaxing stay, and know you will as well.

Thank you to the El Conquistador for hosting us! Learn more on their website.
