Star Valley Park near Payson

Star Valley Park near Payson is in a small town on your way up to the White Mountains. The B. Diane McDaniel Community Park is located just off Highway 260. This park makes a great place to stop on road trips for a break!

The park is large and different sections for different ages. There is a fun playground with slides, rock wall, lots of space to climb, an “amazing” zip line as my kids say, as well as an attempt to make it an accessible playground.

The zip line was reviewed as “amazing” and “so fun” by my kids.

Splash Pad

We visited in July 2023 and the water was not on yet. In the half hour we were there, at least half a dozen people pulled up, walked over to see if it was on and left. I couldn’t even find a button to turn it on! So we will have to check on that.

Workout Circuit

This workout circuit around the exterior of the park. In cool weather this would be a great place to get some exercise in.

The park includes a pickle ball court, volleyball court, horseshoes as well as picnic table and lots of shaded areas. There is also a barn on the property which eventually will be utilized by local youth groups for animal projects. Bathrooms are available in the center of the park.

Getting There

Star Valley Park near Payson is a large park with multiple playgrounds. It is divided into sections, and I would recommend keeping an eye on young kids. It is off the highway, but it is set back far from the road. 

When heading north, you will find the entrance right after Plant Fair Nursery, it feels like when you see the sign it’s time to turn in. Coming from the North, it’s after the plumbing store.
