The Nook in Pinetop

Kim Gudykunst Ollerhead, Jana Tingom

When The Nook in Pinetop added their latest room and named it Adventure Awaits, I knew it was meant to be for us!

Adventure Awaits is the most recent room remodel. This comfy second floor suite is outfitted with a King size bed, a small sleeper sofa (which my kids think is the absolute best thing ever), dining table and 2 TV’s. The kitchenette has everything we needed for our stay including a large refrigerator, microwave and some basic dishes, utensils and mugs.

Outside the rooms you can find a mini golf course, cornhole, fire pits for smores and lots of trees to hang a hammock from. Even a gated area for the four legged kids! We played mini golf and corn hole, over and over and over.

The fire starter bag was perfect for us because we were able to find a fire pit without any wood, light the starter kit very easily (the lighter is hanging above the BBQ for guests). Normally I don’t like starting fires because I don’t always want to wait for them to burn out. This was simple, lit quickly and we were able to make our smores and the kids ran around the grass and mini golf course to burn off their extra energy while the fire burned out.

The Rooms

Rooms vary from long term rentals to pet and family friendly. Here are a few of our favorite family friendly rooms.

More About The Nook in Pinetop

by Jana Tingom

As the name suggests, this boutique hotel is in the heart of Pinetop, about 3 hours from Phoenix, and a little slice of relaxation. The recently renovated rooms have the cutest themes – we stayed in the Hook, Wine, and Sinker which was a fishing theme! A king bed, pull out couch bed (super comfy too), full bathroom, and a kitchenette was in a studio apartment style and fit our family well.

And right outside are amenities like mini golf and other lawn games, firepits and a grill, a gated dog park, picnic tables, and hammock swings. The kids loved the mini golf especially!

If you feel like exploring, Woodland Lake Park is just half a mile away, or walk 5 min to our favorite Cyclelogical Coffee. We also love hiking the Springs Trail. This time for a unique adventure, we also went rafting down the Salt River! The Pinetop-Lakeside and Show Low area definitely have enough to keep you busy for a full weekend.
