Disney on Ice 2021 in Phoenix

Last fall, we had the opportunity to attend Disney on Ice at the Footprint Center in downtown Phoenix with our five and nine-year-old daughters. Any night out downtown is a fun adventure with these girls, but it was especially exciting for our youngest who is a huge Disney fan!

Disney on Ice 2021 in Phoenix. Last fall, we had the opportunity to attend Disney on Ice at the Footprint Center in downtown Phoenix with our five and nine-year-old daughters. Any night out downtown is a fun adventure with these girls, but it was especially exciting for our youngest who is a huge Disney fan!

We recommend you arrive early enough to enjoy a meal at one of the many restaurants within walking distance of the arena. We saw many families with small children in full Disney character costumes at each of the restaurants we passed (and don’t forget those mouse ears)!

Plan to arrive about 30 minutes before your show to allow time to get through security and take advantage of the many photo opportunities inside the arena with fun Disney backdrops and an occasional character meet and greet! A variety of drinks, snacks, and Disney merchandise was also available for purchase.

Once the lights dimmed and the music began, my girls were mesmerized. The skaters are all very talented and engaged and the show moves at a good pace, summarizing a variety of well-loved Disney classics.

The show lasts about 2 hours in total, with two 45 minutes sessions separated with a 15-20 minute intermission in the middle. Food lines were extremely crowded during our show so I would recommend making purchases early before the first act so you don’t miss any of the performance trying to fit it into intermission.

My 5 year old said her favorite part was the extended recap of Frozen and the hilarious performance by Olaf.

The whole experience is done in high Disney style, with amazing costumes and a wonderful soundtrack. And although it’s entertaining for adults and kids alike, it’s especially magical for the littles.

Disney on Ice: Dream Big runs January 13-16 at the Footprint Center. Tickets are available at ticketmaster.com.
