WishTrip Games App at Papago Park is a fun-filled stroll through Papago Park with trivia, exploration, photo challenges and more along the way!
We’ve been to Papago more times than we can count. So bringing in a game to enhance our exploring time was very intriguing. Basically, you choose a game level based upon the ages of children in your family (there are adult levels too), and then follow the directional arrow as it takes you on a mini-sightseeing trip around the park.
You can view our YouTube video summary here:
We chose the “Do You Have What it Takes to be a Leader?” game for 6-12 year olds. Our route took about 90 minutes and we walked 2 miles, ending near Hole in the Rock. Start the app once you’ve parked and are ready to adventure!
Along the way, challenges will pop up, anything from recording your answer to a question or a fun activity. Trivia is built in, like did you know the park was established as Papago-Saguaro National Monument in 1914, but the status was revoked 1930 because it was not suitable for a national monument status? We didn’t!
We visited Hunt’s Tomb, learned about various leaders, walked around numerous ponds, and the kids got a kick out of having to do jumping jacks by Hole in the Rock.
Our family enjoyed trying out this game! The app was easy for the kids to use, the challenges unique, and we saw parts of Papago Park we’ve never been to before. It was a fun way to get out of the house as a family!
The WishTrip app is free to download, and free to play. It’s worth noting that the app can also record your route on other hikes, including photos, and makes a fun summary at the end. See the video below for our version from Papago Park.
