There’s few indoor games that appeal equally to all ages like bowling. If your kids are big enough to pick up the ball they can bowl, while older children and adults get into the more competitive side of the sport. Brunswick Bowling has over a hundred locations nation-wide, and eight of those are found Arizona, seven in the Phoenix area.
Most Brunswick locations are exactly what you expect from a local bowling alley. You rent the shoes, you hit some pins. The food is typical alley fare, with hit-or-miss pizza, chicken tenders, soda, and pitchers of beer and sangria. There’s also always a small arcade with video games and claw machines that give out tickets you can turn in for prizes, as well as billiards if you want to take a break from the lanes (the number of tables range from Glendale and Mesa’s one each to a whopping eight in Avondale).
The Brunswick Zone XL bowling alley in Gilbert is a little different from the rest, with 44 lanes vs. every other location’s 40. If you want to make bowling just part of your night, this is the location for you—it includes a full bar and grill, bumper cars and Game Zone, a larger arcade that includes more non-video games (like air hockey) for competitive family fun.
If the kids like the idea of a bowling-themed birthday party, Brunswick is glad to accommodate, with a flat rate for bowling, pizza, soda, invitations, balloons and a bowling pin-shaped sippy cup for the birthday child.
