Take a gondola ride at the Arizona Snowbowl near Flagstaff and be amazed by the views at 11,000+ feet! It’s definitely a must do with the family this summer.

The gondola makes it easy for all ages to take a ride and soak in some of the best views of Arizona! Our visit day was unfortunately rainy, but we still managed to hike a bit at the top and snap some photos. (And don’t miss the highest toilet in Arizona!) It’s a good reminder to check the weather before planning to visit, and remember that the higher elevation is cooler than what you might find in Flagstaff.

Editor’s note: we’ve been back since that summer visit and the views were spectacular! See photos below.

The gondola is completely enclosed, with two benches on either side, and the ride takes about 10 minutes up, and 10 minutes back down. You’re welcome to stay as long as you like at the top (unless like in our case, there was an incoming lightning storm), and there’s even picnic tables to enjoy a snack at 11,500 feet! Highly recommended this unique activity. There’s a couple trails to explore too, if you feel like going higher.

But wait, there’s more! The AZ Snowbowl has more summer activities, like summer tubing, a rock wall, gold panning, and a bungee trampoline. Some height and age restrictions do apply, see their website for details. We will have to return on a non-rainy day to have fun here.

The summer activities usually close at the end of September, but the gondola ride runs all fall and is a great place to view the vibrant yellow aspen leaves as they change!

Parking is free, and there are restrooms inside the lodge. There is also a restaurant and bar, gift shop, lawn games, and lots of patio seating. Located about 3 hours from a Phoenix, and 25 min from Flagstaff! More information can be found on their website.
