The SolidCAM Quick Start Service (1/2 day setup, optional 2 days of training) has been designed to enable new or existing customers to maximize their return on investment and enable CAM user(s) to set up their system and become proficient with SolidCAM as quickly as possible.

Service Overview

The Quick Start includes the following services

SolidCAM Installation

Installation of one instance of SolidCAM software – we recommend that you do this prior to the service so that more time can be spent carrying out system review and set up.

Set Up Machine Simulation (if applicable)

The SolidCAM Simulator is an advanced tool for visualizing and verifying the machining process, reducing the risk of collisions and maximizing the efficacy of your toolpaths.

Set up Initial Sample Tool Library

The Part Tool Library contains all the Tool Items available for use in a specific CAM-Part and enables you to manage them in accordance with the CNC-Machine chosen for the CAM-Part Definition.

Best Practices and Workflow

Our service engineer will guide you through best practices and SolidCAM workflows and advise on good file management and backup routines.

Create a Learning/Training Path

We will also provide a recommended learning path based on the SolidCAM modules you have purchased, helping to continue your development and ensure you get the most out of SolidCAM.

SolidCAM Settings

Our service engineer will review many SolidCAM settings with you including the Default CAM Part, GCode Locations, CNC Controller and Post location.

Set Up Machine Default

Our SolidCAM engineer will set your machine default including Speed & Feed, CAM Tree View Options, parameters of the Tool Path Linking.

Initial CAM Part Program

The CAM Part is a SOLIDWORKS part prepared for a CAM (computer-aided manufacturing) project. We set up the CAM Part, Apply Fixture, Apply Toolpath, Generate GCode.

Our engineer ensure that you are set up with access to all available resources, along with the support process and methods to obtain support.

SolidCAM 2.5D CNC Milling Training Overview

This course introduces SolidCAM 2.5D Milling technologies. It covers the basic concepts of 2.5D machining and interface of the SolidCAM gold partner product.

SolidCAM's 2.5D Milling module provides the most straightforward, easy-to-use interface that is seamlessly integrated with SOLIDWORKS. Combined with the latest toolpath technology, SolidCAM 2.5D Milling provides the fastest, most powerful and easiest methods to create 2.5D CNC Milling toolpaths.

Easily work on parts, assemblies, and sketch geometry to define your CNC machining operations. Quickly place fixtures and components for full visualization.

  1. Introduction to Operation types (Profile, Pocket, Slot, Drill, etc.)
  2. Geometry definitions (3D Models, 2D drawings)
  3. Rest material options
  4. Basics of Multi-Sided Machining
  5. Tool types and Tool tables
  6. Simulation types
  7. G-Code Generation
Duration

2 Days (7 hours/day). Hands-on practical training for two people.

Terms of Service

  • The SolidCAM Quick Start Service is comprised of a half day setup and an optional two day training course for two people.
  • The half day for system setup and configuration is conducted online
  • The two days of SolidCAM 2.5D CNC Milling Training are public courses that can be either taken live online or at available locations, see the training schedule for upcoming courses.
  • Two people can take the training course.
