This post has all the best hikes in Phoenix – as in having the location address of Phoenix, AZ. Hiking is a great way to soak up this beautiful winter weather, explore the desert, and get exercise as a family!

Remember, a trail might be 3 miles, but you can only go 1 mile if that fits your family better. Bring water, hats, and sunscreen – and have fun!

South Overbank Trail, Nina Mason Pulliam Rio Salado Audobon Center – 3 miles, paved

Judith Tunell Trail, South Mountain – 1 mile, paved

Fat Man’s Trail, South Mountain – 2.4 miles round trip

Circumference Trail and Basalt Trail, Deem Hills Recreation Area – 2.5 miles round trip

Tres Rios Wetlands – 3 miles in and out (free permit needed), stroller friendly

Apache Wash Loop Trail – 2.8 miles round trip

North Mountain National Trail, Phoenix Mountain Preserve – 1.7 miles round trip

Lookout Mountain Circumference Trail, Phoenix Mountain Preserve – 2.2 miles, round trip

Reach 11 Barrier Free Nature Trail – 1.8 miles round trip, partially paved

Dreamy Draw – currently closed in 2022, will update when completed!

LV Yates to “Two Bit” Peak Loop, Phoenix Mountain Preserve 40th street – 2.7 miles round trip

Hole in the Rock, Papago Park – 0.3 miles in and out

Butte Loop, Papago Park – 2.2 miles round trip

LoPiano Bosque Habitat – 1 mile, in and out, stroller friendly
