Put this on your bucket list: take the family to the cabins at Lake Havasu State Park! With beach play and more, it’s a beautiful spot to enjoy nature and make memories.

Each cozy cabin sleeps six, with a queen bed in a separate room, and two sets of twin bunk beds in the main room (bring your own bedding). There are also four chairs and bar area for seating. Each cabin is also climate controlled with air conditioning and heat, fans, and electricity! Outside you’ll find a small covered porch, a picnic table, and fire ring.

The restrooms within easy walking distance, and have six individual rooms, each with a toilet, sink, mirror, and shower. Outside is a large sink for washing dishes, and a water bottle filling station. The restrooms were always very clean.

Our favorite? The cabins are located just steps from the lake! We loved being able to play and swim in the water, and easily return to the cabin for snacks, or siesta time. The sunset views are fantastic. Plus you can’t beat the stargazing!

The convenience of real beds and bathrooms, mixed with the fun of cooking over a fire, makes this a perfect mix of camping and glamping for families. We highly recommend these AZ State Park cabins! (There are currently 8 locations offering cabins – we’ve also stayed at Lost Dutchman State Park and loved it.) Thanks to the state park for hosting us!

Also at Lake Havasu State Park you’ll find multiple beach areas, a beautiful desert garden, and a 1.5 mile hiking trail along the shoreline. Don’t forget to grab a Jr. Ranger Booklet and complete for a badge! This is a great way for kids to learn more about the area. All this is just 3.5 hours from Phoenix, perfect for a weekend getaway!
