The Teapot, a family friendly coffee shop

Even before we visited The Teapot, I loved the concept: a coffee shop with a backyard play area for kids! The photos on Instagram were charming, and the food looked delicious. We finally took a morning to stop by this past week, and were not disappointed!

The kids played for almost 3 hours! There’s a huge two story playhouse, with a twisty slide, and a mini kitchen on the bottom level. Cars and push bikes to ride, a train and car mat on the porch, a chalkboard — and so much more are available for free play. A brick walkway goes around the enclosed area, and is wider by the patio. This place was clearly designed by parents. I noticed some bees on the back wall by the flowers, but it wasn’t a problem.

There were plenty of chairs and tables, plus blankets in the grass for the picnic option. During the warmer days, there are misters, and in general lots of shade available when needed. Lots and lots of space for kids to play alone or with friends. My shy daughter even felt comfortable to make new friends and run around pretending to be princesses. There is also indoor seating and a kids corner with a variety of toys and games. To note, there is a $2/child fee for playing (for upkeep of the toys).

Speaking of food, we tried a couple of the options as well, the hummus plate and panini with chips, as well as coffee (an iced Americano) and a cactus cookie. All were delicious! The prices seemed on the high side, but in support of a unique business, it was worth the cost. The kids devoured the hummus and asked for more!

Take a morning a come visit. You won’t be disappointed! It’s the perfect place for play dates, or to read a book and chill while the kids play.
