Kids Empire in Phoenix is a newly opened indoor play space that boasts a three story jungle gym! Kids and adults will love discovering all the ins and outs of this huge play structure.
Seriously, the jungle gym is what sets Kids Empire apart from other indoor places. There are multiple entrances and exits, spinning structures, balance beams, bridges, and more! It’s such a great way to let kids be kids yet test their coordination and strength. Also in the gym is a soccer area and underneath you’ll find an abundance of oversized LEGO bricks to fire the imagination. The kids built multiple forts during our visit. It was a nice break from the constant movement in the jungle gym.
You can’t miss the motorized bikes as well. These are an extra charge beyond admission and take tokens, at $1/token or $5/6 tokens. The kids loved these rides! Even our 4 year old was able to drive and chase his sister around the track. There’s a sensor line at the beginning which tracks the rounds a bike makes. After four times around, you’re done, or can add another token to ride again.
The separate toddler play area is well built as well. Numerous slides, a ball pit, a small trampoline and soft blocks make this perfect for little ones that might get overwhelmed in the bigger play area.
There’s also a black light room with a disco ball and music! The walls are colorfully decorated with a space theme. (Actually, the whole play space is colorful, from the jungle gym to the chairs.) The songs play on a loop, and you can hear the music anywhere, but it wasn’t overly loud or annoying.
Restrooms are easily accessible and clean, with drinking fountains nearby. The food area sells typical drinks and snacks, and offers a $6 kids meal which includes a crustable PB&J sandwich, chips, a drink and dessert. Plenty of seating is in center of the room. On the info brochure there was mention of free WiFi, but it wasn’t available yet. They also host birthday parties!
We spent almost 4hrs playing at Kids Empire, only leaving because the kiddos were exhausted. Which is a good thing! We will likely visit again and bring some friends. In comparison to other favorite indoor places, our seven year old deemed Urban Air and The Stomping Ground still the top favorites; but this place was in the top five with features like the LEGO blocks, disco room and (to quote her), “getting lost – in a good way – in the ginormous playground”.
Kids Empire is open 7 days a week, including holidays. Hours are 10am-8pm, Monday-Thursday, and 10am-10pm Friday-Sunday. Admission is $15/child, and includes 2 free adults per paid child. Socks are required for adults and children. (Grip socks are not required but we recommend them due to the majority of the climbing structure having slippery floors.) No outside food or drink allowed, water bottles are fine. Admission comes with in and out privileges as well! Just let an employee at the front desk know you’ll be back.
For those whom might view the admission price high, consider this: very few places allow all day admission plus the ability to come and go. Extend your stay by packing a lunch to eat in the car, or pick up something nearby. Plus, there is no charge for adults. So with a family of 4, 2 adults and 2 children, staying 3hrs, that comes to $30 total and a breakdown of $5/hour per kid. Honestly, that’s a great deal!

Sad not to see a diverse group of kids! No thank you
Thanks for this review, we will be visiting Phoenix in October and plan to bring our 3 kids here to Kids Empire. By the way, the little round pre-made sandwiches typically sold at kids places are called “Uncrustables” not crustables : ) every pb&j is a crustable until you cut the crust off.
