KTR Action Sports in Scottsdale is more than a trampoline park! Per it’s title, “Action Sports” involves a fabulous skatepark, parkour, dodgeball – really, any form of movement! It’s a very welcomed indoor facility to the Scottsdale area and will appeal to the whole family. (And if you’re wondering what KTR stands for, its Kids That Rip.)
KTR has locations on the Pogo Pass.
Note: KTR also has locations in Mesa and Chandler. All facilities are very similar. This is a review on the Scottsdale location, but we’ve also visited and enjoyed the Chandler facility as well.
There are seven different areas of KTR to experience:
- a fabulous 5 and under only area
- a free movement area with a climbing wall, warped walls and more
- a sport arena for dodgeball and volleyball
- a long section of individual trampolines
- The Skybridge, with monkey bars, free jump and more
- The Skate Park, for scooters, BMX bikes and skateboarding fun
- a cafe with snacks, drinks and lots of seating
There are benches in the middle of the main walkway, where observers can see almost every section, except the trampolines. This is handy when keeping an eye on multiple children. The cafe has more comfortable seating, including some leather booths!

KTR
KTR is one of our favorite venues in all of Phoenix. We have been to KTR dozens of times, and we keep going back. It’s a great place for the kids to go and jump on trampolines, play, dodgeball, skate, and get the wiggles out.
There are many KTR locations across the valley, and surprisingly, they’re all somewhat different, some feature more trampolines than others, and some have slides and zip lines.
KTR typically sells passes in one or two-hour blocks, but you can also buy day passes. Our children are usually completely worn out after two hours. Each KTR location features a café and lounge where parents can sit and work if they desire. KTR also offers family memberships and annual passes. Each location of KTR is independently owned and operated, which probably explains some of the differences. But we found each of them to be exceptional and very modern and safe.
The 5 and under area offers its own mini warped wall, two trampolines, two balance beams, monkey bars, and plenty of space to run and jump! Sections of the floor were slightly springy. Our four year old loved it all – everything was just his size. We also appreciated the employees who were strict on not letting older children in this area. (That said, our seven year played with her brother a handful of times and wasn’t asked to leave. Maybe it made a difference that there was no one else around.)
Next door is the free movement area, which includes tons of parkour action! The warped walls and climbing wall are also here. We loved the oversized, moveable soft structure items, making it easy and fun to customize an obstacle course. Velcro kept the pieces firm on the floor. There are two options for the warped walls, a challenge for kids and adults. We spent a lot of time in this area.
The dodgeball and volleyball area is also here, with netting all around for safety. Employees lead the games here. All are welcome to join, just be aware that we observed some pretty competitive games. Those balls were thrown with force! We’d recommend this activity for ages 6 and up.
Behind the three previously mentioned areas, there is the wall of trampolines. Over a dozen individual jumping squares await! Jump to your heart’s content, and try to make it high enough to access the platform.
The SkyBridge section is new to KTR. Balance beams and monkey bars connect three platforms, with sections to jump on to a “soft blob”. Not sure how else to describe it! No foam pits here, just two safe and fun areas to land. (Balance beams and monkey bars also have this feature underneath.) It’s a great test of skill and balance – a good challenge for kids and adults.
The skate area is open to BMX bikes, skateboards and scooters. We brought our own scooters and helmets and the kids loved the first section with the small inclines! (Just be aware that all ages and abilities will be using the ramps, so use caution if younger children want to join.) It’s also a great place to take a break and watch. The skate park may only be open to certain sports at various times. Ask at the front desk for any restrictions.
We really enjoyed our visit to KTR in Scottsdale! There was something for everyone, both within our skill level and to challenge us a bit more. We loved the family friendly vibe, helpful employees (especially when one of ours got head whacked during dodgeball) and clean facility. We could see this place being our go to for the summer months next year! A huge thanks to KTR Scottsdale for letting us check out their facility.
KTR is open 12pm-9pm, Monday to Friday, 10am-10pm on Saturday, and 10am-6pm on Sunday. A 2hr pass is $20/person, a 4hr pass is $25/person, and a full day pass is $42/person. Children 5 and under can play for an hour for $9/child. Adults or those not using the facility are free. In and out privileges are allowed, but the time frame still applies to 2hr and 4hr passes.
They also have family passes! This includes 2 adults and up to 5 children. A 2hr pass is $45, a 4hr pass is $55, and a full day pass is $70 They have a current promotion for Mondays, 3pm-9pm, with 50% off all family passes!
You are welcome to bring your own skateboard and scooter, and they can also be rented for a charge at the front desks. Socks are not required in the facility. But we would recommend grip socks for hygienic reasons and ultimate safety when climbing and running, especially for younger ones.
Restrooms and drinking fountains are located near the entrance, along with plenty of wall cubbies for shoes, benches and for a free mini lockers. No outside food or drink allowed, except water bottles. Check out their cafe for snacks and drinks, with affordable simple meal options as well. Free WiFi is available.
KTR Scottsdale offers classes, like skateboarding instruction, and a preschool program for ages 3-5. And they host birthday parties in some pretty sweet private rooms with a view! See their website for more details and pricing.
