Rotary Park in Scottsdale

Chris and Jana Tingom

Rotary Park is a small but well maintained park in Scottsdale, AZ. It is located on Doubletree Rd. between Scottsdale Rd. and Hayden Rd., but closer to Hayden Rd.

The park itself is only 8 acres in size, but features two ramadas which can be used on a first-come basis for picnics and parties. In addition, there are picnic areas and walking trails.

This park has been here since as long as I can remember, and it has a couple of distinct features including a large grass area for sports. I know there’s a soccer team that meets there on Wednesday afternoons at 4 pm.

We typically go here for the playground, which is average size, but features two large play structures, one of which is perfect for toddlers, and the larger of the two is for older children. The slides are uncovered, so during the summer months they’ll get pretty hot, however there are trees that shade the playground in the late afternoon, and early morning.

This park also has swings, and a huge sand area for playing in the sand. The restrooms are clean and private. Better than most parks.
